Meet at the Hotel lobby and proceed to Kinabalu Park, Malaysia′s Natural Heritage site. Journey will take approximately 2 hours passing by villages, paddy fields along mountainous roads that wind along the Crocker Range.
A brief stop over at Nabalu, whereby a collection of native stalls selling local fruits, vegetables, local products and handicrafts will be discovered. An opportunity to observe the local stalls activities.
Arrive at Poring Hot Spring, located approximately 47km from Kinabalu Park. Poring Hot Spring was named after a tall bamboo plant that was abundant in that area, a natural spring where hot sulphurous water emits from the ground. There are Japanese Baths where visitors can soak themselves and let the invigorating sulphurous water stimulate their body. Visitors can also try the canopy walkway, where suspension bridges are suspended at the top of the canopy for visitors to walk among the canopy of a tropical jungle
Depart for lunch at Mountain Restaurant. After lunch, depart to Kinabalu Park, enjoy the cool and refreshing mountain air, if the day is clearer; majestic view of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia can be experienced by the climbers. Proceed for a guided walk along the nature trails with the park naturalist. While walking, listen to the sounds of the jungle and observe nature′s plants, trees, orchids and butterflies. Kinabalu Park boasts an estimate of 4,500 species of plants, which includes 1,500 species of orchids, 77 of that are endemic to Kinabalu. The park also supports 289 species of birds and 290 different types of butterflies.

0730 hrs - Pick up from your Hotel and depart on road for Kudat, where it is a mere 2 hours 30 minutes drive through picturesque countryside. Kudat lies on the Northern most tip of Sabah and is the home of the Rungus tribe. A visit to the longhouse at Kg. Bavanggazo, Matunggong will give you an insight of the well-preserved traditions and conservative lifestyle.
Built in April 1992 as a pioneer project to preserve the Rungus culture, the longhouse showcases the concept of communal living and sharing, all under one roof. The longhouse comprises a several small apartments each containing a raised sleeping area and living space with a hearth used also for dining. A longhouse usually begins as a single apartment built by father. When children grow and start their own families, they ass literally similar apartments to their father’s unit, thus creating a long house. A stay at the longhouse is the best way to witness, enjoy and experience the unique lifestyle of the Rungus tribe. Lunch at a local restaurant before proceed back to Kota Kinabalu.
Alternatively, you may also visit Tanjung Simpang Mengayau. Dubbed as the Tip of Borneo. Located Northern tip of Borneo, Kudat is the first capital of Sabah. Padas River is situated in the interior of southern part of Kota Kinabalu that is only accessible by train (used since the late 19th century in Borneo). Basically, this trip will give you two experiences advantages – (1) Excursion of Class III-IV river, (2) A ride in an antique train in this new millennium.
The adrenaline rush excursion covers a distance of 9km of this rather muddy 200km river that holds 7 exciting and tough rapids!
These rapids carries amusing names such as Merry-Go-Round Rapid, Break Point Rapid, Scooby Doo Rapid, Cobra Rapid, Curve Rapid, Lambada Rapid and Head Hunter Rapid. Each rapid will give you the feel of the motion as what the name means.
The journey will first take 1½ hours overland through the countryside to Beaufort town. From there upon, adventure begins with the 1½ hours train rides tracks along the Padas River that gives glimpses of the thrills and excitement to come. Upon arriving at the Starting Point, participant will be given safety briefing before going down the river.
The ultimate challenge will speak for itself as one shoots through and experiences the nerve tingling excitement which crescendos rapid after rapid while getting a closer look at the Borneo′s amazing flora and fauna.
